I made so many garments in 2022! Check out everything in my Fall/Winter capsule wardrobe and let me know which pieces are your favorites. All patterns used are linked at the end of the post.
Dresses
The green, patterned dress (Simplicity 9601) was the most technical garment I had ever made. It featured darts, buttons, placket, and a belt! The end result, though, was a wonderfully structured dress that fits beautifully.
The dress on the right (New Look N6683) is a much more simple pull-on shift I made out of a knubby twill remnant I had. The pattern was easy enough to make but the material ended up being a little too scratchy so it’s not a dress that I wear often.
Tops
As you can see, I got a lot of mileage out of the Box Top pattern! I made several versions of both the short and long sleeved options and I used a variety of different fabrics including gauze, cotton, and linen.
Jackets
The jacket in the top right (Hovea Jacket) can be made in a variety of lengths and pocket shapes. I love the simplicity of the ties over buttons and the wide pockets are just so cute!
The other two jackets used the All Well Cardigan Coat pattern and I absolutely adore the giant pockets on these. They’re not only stylish but incredibly practical! The contrasting bias binding is so fun too, although you could use any colors you like to make the jacket of your dreams.
Sweaters
To make three of these sweaters, I actually adapted the New Look pattern (from the shift dress above)! It’s such a versatile pattern that makes the most lovely puffed sleeves and cozy turtle necks.
The sweater in the upper right is an easy-to-sew McCalls pattern that I added an iron-on patch to and ribbed cuffs to give it a little personality. I wear all of these sweaters constantly and these styles are just so timeless.
Hat
This beanie pattern can be completed in ~30 minutes with little-to-no experience. I highly recommend using a fabric with a good amount of stretch though, so you don’t end up with a too-snug hat (especially if you’re giving it as a gift!).
